As a web QA engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing product quality post-development on Sweetwater.com and other supporting e-commerce applications. You will be expected to independently design effective test plans for new features (including acceptance and exploratory testing methods), to set up and execute tests in a timely fashion, to collaborate with developers to resolve discovered quality issues, and to produce clear and actionable bug reports. This role represents the final step in the iterative development process before production release and must maintain a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this role will contribute to automated testing solutions to ensure the absence of critical regression defects and will assist in providing support to internal and external customers.
This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN. We offer flexible work schedules and hybrid work-from-home options. Qualifications
- Experience testing web and mobile applications across different browser and device environments
- Knowledge of foundational web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Understanding of various web-testing types, best practices, and techniques (including functional and nonfunctional testing)
- Effective and articulate communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a creative edge to discover defects
- Team player with excellent collaboration skills
- A passion for growth in learning new technologies and tools to support testing strategy
- Knowledge of Git version-control system
- Familiarity with agile development processes and kanban project-management workflow
- Experience writing JavaScript and maintaining automated end-to-end tests using frameworks such as Cypress.io
- Familiarity with accessibility testing and WCAG standards
- Familiarity with application life-cycle management tools, including CI/CD processes
- Understanding of client/server interaction and network protocols
- Basic understanding of query languages (such as SQL) and relational database-management tools
